People Will Do Business With You Because Of "You"!

Do you enjoy buying something from a company that is making you feel like you're "one more sucker"? Or if you prefer the friendly version… "just a number"…?

I don't! I really don't!

When i buy something, call a customer service department, or check out a website i want to feel like i'm appreciated and not just a number. Take a look at what google did with their personalized thing! They are providing people with personalized search results, personalized homepage and all! That's what i call a great way to make people feel at home!

In fact that's the reason i "hire" google to deal with many aspects of my business. They provide me with relevant search results, Adwords, Adsense, and they offer me the opportunity to have my stuff personalized, it's a win-win situation!

When you hire someone to do some work for you, do you want him/her to make you feel like you're important? When you go to a store to buy something, you also want to feel important! Don't you?

I do!

Now, try to think as if you were the owner of that store, or the person looking for contracts and customers. Do you sincerely think your customers are happy, and satisfied? Do you make yourself available for your customers or for the people that hires you?

People will do business with you because of YOU! You are the business! People will trust and believe in you if you provide them with benefits and add a personal touch! But for that to happen you have to treat your customers right! If you own a store, don't you think it would be a good idea to have your employees wear name tags, make sure your people greet and say hi to each and every customer (not annoy them!) when they enter the store? Hey why not call your customers or the people that hired you before and tell them you appreciate their business? (might help getting more business!)

So, simply put, consider yourself as the business! You are not working on your business, and you're not working in that business either! You are the business, and people willl want to buy from you or hire you if they feel "at home" working with you!

What do you think?
